I'm going back to Callan, to Callan, to Callan

I was so wanting to eat here
Yesterday we headed back to Kilkenny for the day. Our room at Hotel Kilkenny was not ready, so we drove into the town to try to find some lunch. I had seen a place called Biddy Early's, so i was hoping to eat there, but they were not open for lunch. My fears about driving on the narrow streets in this town quickly came to fruition, as i smacked mirrors with a parked car. Luckily, both mirrors folded in, and no damage was done. I am so worried about running into another driver that I list too far to the left, thus, the mirror to mirror impact. After finding a place to eat we headed to Callan so that I could show Rach the L'Arche Community that I had visited with. As is typical, everyone at the workshop took to her immediately, she has a gift. I took pride showing off all of the people and places of L'Arche to her. Not being able to be with all of our friends at Camp Rainbow Connection this week, it was nice to be in a place that emulates similar people, relationships, and spirit.

When we finished meeting with the good people of L'Arche, we headed off to Kilkenny Castle. We were the last ones in, and they kind of rushed us through, which was not awesome. As soon as we parked it started raining buckets, so we were glad it was an indoor tour. After paying our money we were a little disappointed to find out that we were not allowed to take pictures, and that the tour was self guided. At the conclusion of our tour we crossed the road to their ample gift shops just to look around.

When we finally checked into our room at Hotel Kilkenny, we were happy with our room. The Internet was up and running, which was more than we could say for our last accommodation. Also, to this point, they win the award for best shower/bath tub. Following dinner in the hotel pub, where we sat next to a giant painting of a sad clown, we went to the room to do some writing, then turned in for the night. This morning we had a very nice breakfast, then set out for an adventure of a lifetime. More to come about that tomorrow...
